Director: Christopher Smith

Overall Rating: Ugly

A group of friends on a yachting trip run into trouble when a storm overcomes them and they have to take refuge aboard another ship.

The Good

Toward the end of the first act, Triangle seems like it isn’t going to go anywhere interesting but then it jumps out and surprises you a bit with where it does go. It’s probably best to go into this one without knowing too much about it.

The Bad

There’s a long stretch of the movie where characters are just walking around a spooky ship. It’s meant to build suspense but it goes on for far too long. The movie is doing its best to keep you from getting to its good parts.

The Ugly

The last two-thirds of the movie are far more interesting and fast paced than what preceded. While there are plenty of holes you can poke in the story, it’s worth watching to see how the movie reshapes itself as it goes along.
