Director: Jaume Collet-Serra

Overall Rating: Ugly

Liam Neeson continues his action movie career in Run All Night as aging mobster Jimmy Conlon, who must aide his son after he’s witnessed a mob murder. The murderer happens to be the son of Jimmy’s long-time partner and friend, Shawn Maguire, played by Ed Harris.

The Good

You know what you’re getting with this movie. There are no surprises here. For that, you can give this movie a bit of credit. It delivers on giving you action, adventure and, of course, Liam Neeson.

The Bad

Run All Night goes a long way to villainize Liam Neeson’s character. Too far, really. The movie treats its audience like dummies. We get it. Liam Neeson is supposed to be a piece of shit.

The Ugly

There are some odd stylized transitions that don’t fit. It’s the only stylized part of this movie. The movie looks pretty good and seems fairly well directed. The transitions from scene to scene, however, feel like they belong in a different movie.
