Director: Tim Miller
Smart mouthed mercenary Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) undergoes an experimental treatment which leads to him becoming the mutant-powered Deadpool.
A refreshing take on the comic book movie that goes far beyond its unlikely “R” rating, giving us a stripped down, fractured story line, fourth wall breaks and, of course, lots and lots of blood.
Deadpool’s friend Wiesel (T.J. Miller) pops off about as many jokes as Deadpool does. In fact, most of the people we meet in Deadpool seem to share Deadpool’s humor. It would have been interesting to see a bit more variation in the characters.
Deadpool rides a fine line between funny and insincere. It’s easy to see how someone could come down on either side of this move because of that. Even the darkest moments of Deadpool are punctuated with punchlines.« « Get a Job | Suspiria » »
